this bike makes me look cool and can climb hills.
shifting is still a little funky, so i have two forward gears and a neutral, which is fun for stoplights.

There is a deep excellence

There is a deep excellence to this bike. I've got a similar idea planned for this summer!

Your funky shifting is likely due to your zip ties. Internal hubs need pretty precise shifting and you're probably getting movement. The shift cable at the indicator might be strapped too tightly to the frame, which could be pulling on the indicator chain, too. I hope you get it sorted, though. 3-speed internals should be the next fixies!

JC Higgens? I just had a Sturmy Archer 3 speed around that looks exactly like that hub.

This set up is too funny, I didn't think I'd ever see something quite like it.

Naw, the SAs don't have the ridges. *I* thought it was a Bendix.

:0P I really don't mean to

:0P I really don't mean to bicker, but this sturmy I've got has those 3 ridges, just like that. I'll try to get a picture. The bike it came in on is bizarre though, forget the name of the frame maker right now, but its circa 1960, and its got a 3speed internal hub with 2 sprockets threaded to it, and triple chainrings... like I said, helsna wierd. Where did you find yours? The one I worked on is so interesting to me, I want to know more about it & the crazy setup bike its on, maybe try to aquire one for my own collection.

Huh! I wanna see pics!
