Mavic G40 clincher rims were being substituted with Nisi Solidal rims (pic. 1 & 5)...

Please have a look on picture 5. There you can see a original version by Colnago of the panto
Nuovo Record Seatpost. Compare the logo with the versions you can buy on ebay (often from Belgium).
You can see that the logo is larger and the contours of the club are more like a club
than on the remade versions...

Short panto seatpost substituted with long version of the Colnago panto Nuovo Record Seatpost;
Saddle Regal Girardi, Snake Skin substituted with San Marco, Concor, Supercorsa

Update: #07/06/08#:
Just bought the last missing panto part, the Campagnolo Record pedals with Ernesto Colnago signature.
Hope to get them next week...

I *really* like that "looking-out-to-the-sea" pic (the bike's nice too, naturally - quite skillfully set up, I'd say) !!

An Artistic Picture

Nice bike; nice shot!

wow.

Nice leathers. I see the gold lettering on the bottom of the drop, I've never seen that, did you buy them already in the stem and stitched up? I have a thing for hand stitched leather grips, I'm stoked to see that someone else on Velospace does too.

This bike is just unreal... Could it have any more pantographing on it? Freakin italians! Love to put their name all over everything :0D The snake skin girardi is quite the find as well, I have a white perf one that I don't think I'll ever ride, I love the gold lettering too much and don't want to see it get rubbed off.

And that crankset is ridiculous, by the way. :0)

...wow - reply

I am sorry, but there are no golden letters on the bike... :-) ...

The stem and the leather wrapped handlebar were available in the late seventies to the mid eighties as a complete setup by colnago.

The difference in weight to standard equipment was the main reason for milling, drilling and pantographing.
And... - Italians do everything with style.
But - de gustibus non disputandum est.
...
Bikes or equipment, which are not ridden are no bikes or equipment...
