how does the aerospoke wheel

how does the aerospoke wheel brake with the non-machined rim? I am looking into painted aerospokes, but I use a front brake. Looks great!

the aerospoke doesn't brake well because i painted the wheel and it squeaks. Now I have converted it to a complete fixie with out brakes. Pics should be up homie.
