Specialized stock and cheapo shimano BB

Specialized stock again and Push seatpost 26.2mm

SRAM chain and Shimano SPD-SL pedals

Just 8 speed tiagra RD and Sora FD, mated with Sora shifters

I bought this frame off Ebay and used all the parts (bar some of them) off from my crashed Specialized Allez 05. So this meant cold setting the rear dropouts and making drop bolts for the brakes because they were too short reach. The paint had had it when I received it so i got it powder-coated in this retro looking green, my girlfriend calls it bogie! I didn't have money to get it properly resprayed so I had to powder-coat it but it was only £20! The next things to upgrade on this thing are wheels, saddle and bars basically, thanks for looking!

Can

you add a shot of the drive side?

Great bike!

I love it. How does the ride feel compared to the Specialized Allez? I'm starting to work on a 1972 Gitane, also an old style racing frame with relaxed angles, but not quite as relaxed as this.

Comparison - Allez

Well, it doesn't ride bumps in a jarring fashion like the alu Allez and it seems to just want to go, like theres some sort of momentum to it on flats. But I think a new wheelset would make a difference to this bike for sure as I found out when upgrading my Dawes Super Galaxy with handmade wheels! Your Gitane sounds really nice, Dutch right? Look foward to seeing it built up!

Good wheels can make a big

Good wheels can make a big difference. Gitane is French, so I had to hunt down a French thread bottom bracket. I have some work on the frame, and then on putting everything together, plus a million other non-bike things, so I'm hoping to get it finished in about two months.

Ah yeah, sorry, French, glad

Ah yeah, sorry, French, glad you found the french BB. It took me so long to build that bike up simply because of school and the fact the powercoaters took ages but gave lots of discount. Again, I look foward to seeing yours!
