From the moment I laid my eyes on the Mission Bicycle, I knew I had to have it. After saving up money to buy it, I placed my order. They sent me an e-mail saying it would be 3 weeks until I received my bicycle. 4 weeks later they sent me another e-mail saying that it would be 3 weeks, and asked me to measure my self. Upon measuring myself, 2 weeks later they sent me another e-mail saying they ordered me a bike that was too small. After waiting another 2 weeks they added on their website that the mission bicycles were just powder-coated IROs, I finally got fed up with that shit, canceled my order, and decided to build up my own. It cost me a little more, but the components are way better. Has any one had any luck with Mission?

Mission Bicycles

The truth about their Mission bicycles is that they're not offering anything more significant than the equivalent to a powder coated Pista with ridiculously high up charges for modest upgrades, although they recently lowered their price after receiving a lot of critisism. And now we find out their customer service stinks too.

Mission is really more of a customization outfit than a bicycle company. I suppose their services could come in handy to those with disposable income who desire the trendy powder coated velocity/formula/riser/oury rig, but lack the mechanical inclination or creativity needed to plan and build such a unique machine. What Mission is selling is their vision of ubiquitous mediocrity.

From what I’ve heard, you’re not the first person with gripes about Mission. You did the right thing by building your own.

I agree. I originally placed my order thinking they were more of a company like Iro or Pake, and once I found out it WAS an IRO, I was severely disappointed. I figure if you are starting up a business like that, which doesn't give your self much respect(i don't know if you read all the comments on BSNYC) customer service is a MUST. I realize they are busy, but without customers they have no company.
