My dad and I put this bike together for me when I was about 15 - (around 1998) We bought the frame at a bike swap with the seat, seat stem and fork. We built it up with a mixed mid 80s set of campy stuff and I rode it for years and years that way. Around 2009 I began to look for and purchase NOS or excellent condition ultegra 600 components that it would have come with though I decided to stay with down tube shifters rather than the STI levers. This has been a long process... I wound up the the ITM stem because I bought a real nice specialized stem but it was 25.4 and not 26mm, and I found the ITM stem NOS for cheap. I really want an ultegra 600 stem but they're too spendy. I'd also like an ultegra 600 seat post. I picked the modolo bars because they're period-correct trick bars. Took a while to find some reasonably priced. (8/15/2013) I now have an excellent condition hub set and I'm saving to buy some new Mav Open Pro rims. (2/21/2016) Just finished building my new wheel-set. Added a picture. (11/4/2017) last month I installed a set of nearly new ST-6400 brake levers I bought on eBay after wiping my out and scratching up one of the aero levers in a ride early this spring. Used gray housing and cables by Jagwire.
