I have a long history with this bike. I found it in a dumpster and used it on the road for about 6 years. I even did a little touring with it. Then I painted it black and got fancy wheels for it. The rack is a CETMA and I painted that to match my frame.

CETMA Rack

This thing is pretty burly. The limiting factor is ridability, not rack strength. I've ridden it with 40-50 lbs of groceries and some pretty big boxes. It does affect steering but once you get used to it, it's nice to be able to keep an eye on your load and adjust it if need be.
