I love this bike. I bought it for dirt cheap from the local velodrome as an entre to track cycling. Everything that came on it except the bars and stem was NJS, which I thought was neat. (It broke my heart to replace the old Hatta cup-and-cone BB but it was just done.) It needed just a couple of parts replaced and a bunch of TLC. It's track ready now and I hope to work my way up into the "B" group at the velodrome this Spring. Sometimes I put a brake on it and ride it on the road. Makes a great rain bike because it's so easy to clean.
It's been repainted at least once and had a bunch of gross "Lightspeed" decals on it which I removed with acetone. I intend to repaint it at some point but I think it's pretty for now. The only cosmetic change I plan for the short term is to design and apply some kind of head badge/decal. Other slated improvements include rebuilding the hubs and changing out the tires and tubes. After a while I also want to replace the cogs, crank, (I want one where you can change out the chain ring.) chain and saddle. But they work fine for now. In the far future I'd like to build a nicer wheel set for it (maybe 2, one for the road and one for the track...) and possibly bring the stem and bar up to NJS spec, just for fun.
