1991 Marinoni Special

Deda Pista bar and Nitto stem

Campagnolo headset

Campy hub, Mavic MA 2 SBP rim

Dura-Ace high flange track hub, sun rim?

Ultegra

Selle Italia Flite saddle

MKS Sylvan pedals

Surly 17t cog, 42t chainring

I put a front brake ('90s Campy with Suntour Superbe Pro lever) on this after coming uncomfortably close to an untimely death. You see, while riding downhill, I began to skip stop on what I found to be a slightly loose cog. It popped the lockring off its threads and unscrewed completely from the hub. I managed to stop myself by jamming my foot between the fork and the front wheel, narrowly missing some parked cars. I never rode BMX so this was a new method of stopping for me. Anyways, now I'm not so cool because my fixie has a brake, but I'll take a little security over being accepted by the local fixie gangs any day.

I know in those situations you do whatever the hell your mind thinks of(i've popped a chain on a steep hill heading towards a busy intersection with 4 lanes of cross traffic with full fenders and wet/slick tires) but next time i'd say try the back tire and seatstays, as to avoid hurting yourself even worse, flipping over the bars doesn't feel good

loose cog ring

...sounds to me as a "cheap equipment" case. I used to strip cogs and lock rings before i discovered Phil Wood. Never again i will save money on rear hubs.

Yes, that's true; I was

Yes, that's true; I was running that generic low-end formula hub when this happened. The dura ace seems solid, though.
