got this guy off ebay because i wanted a little knock-around beater bike, and that is exactly what this is. i was looking for any stingray-like 20" muscle bike from the 60s or 70s but happened to come across this frankenstien schwinn typhoon. i love this thing. its totally incorrect too. the 20" typhoon is supposed to look like a miniaturized version of its 26" counterpart (i.e. a little cruiser), but somewhere along the way, some kid took off the fenders, put big apehangers on it, and a banana seat. its dirty, the paint is terrible and most of the chrome is in bad shape, but i wouldnt have it any other way. when i got it, everything that could possibly be loose on it was. extremely. there was no grease left in the headset or front hub, and what was left in the rear hub and bottom bracket had the consistency of molasses. i actually rode it like that for about a week, then totally cleaned/repacked/rebuilt everything. Phil Wood grease all around. still need to true the rear wheel and get a new spoke to replace the missing one up front.
