Year: 2005

I'd long wanted a Colnago and the Jackson Pollock vibe of this one really appealed to me. It has full Campy Record and is truly a pleasure to ride. These pictures were taken before I had the fork cut down to size.

By the way, this is not a custom paint job. Colnago made 250 of these back when it was offered in 2005.

stunning bicycle.

A touch of insanity!

I wanna laugh, I wanna cry but I bet she climbs like nothing else with all those sexy light campy bits.

:)

Hehe. Thanks! Yeah, it's pretty light in the climb. Since these pics were taken, I've swapped out the pedals for Speedplay X1's and changed to Zero Gravity brakes, which brought its weight down to just over 16 lbs. with pedals, water bottle and pump.

Pump? Who Carries a pump

Pump? Who Carries a pump anymore? 16lbs is very respectable for a bike that can take some heavy riding! You didn't like the Campy brakes? I've thought about changing to ZG but I'm right about 16lbs also & like my Mavic brakes just fine. The 100 grams +/- lured me... yet...

What Can I Say?

I like the pump; it came with the bike. Your beautiful Merckx is probably something you race on. This is my garage queen/"ridin' to church on Sunday bike" (as my LBS calls it). I do ride it, but I'm more into vintage steel. As for the Campy brakes, they worked great. No complaints. But the ZG brakes were just so much lighter, I couldn't resist. I do have the original parts in case I ever want to restore it.

The AXM has it's own

The AXM has it's own bedroom, Ha Ha. It is the once a month bike. I'd prefer to ride the Steel also. Everyone wants a piece of you when you Pull out the AXM. Besides, steel just seems more real to ride on. I like my downtube shifters & the pre 90's bikes for the vintage feel. An ERA long gone but not foorgotten. Pull the Carbon out when you wanna act serious. Nice chattin w/ ya! keep on riding!!!

brera.
