This is my 1st MT. Bike but, she freakin flies. I bought the bike off a local craigs list add for 45 bucks & basically started over with a bare frame. Many good things were said about this type frame so I'd thought it be a good start for my 1st. MTN bike. It has not disappointed. Slicks seem to work pretty good around here (not to many trails) Thinking about going to holy rollers & I do have some panaracer knobbies, but can't stand that sound on pavement + I'm a rodie by nature.

holly rollers or hookworms

holly rollers or hookworms are great tires
don't know if your weight concious though
some of those bigger/heavier tires can really slow you down
