Notes:

This is my all-around bike. It's ugly and not particularly light weight, but it does the job of getting me pretty much everywhere in all weather. The rear wheel stripes were the result of one boring afternoon and a Sharpie.

Pink or Purple?

Hey nice bike! I have the exact same model. I like the sharpie touch, now you've got to wait for another boring day to match the front before the rear fades away.
Your looks somewhat faded but what color do you cal it.
I have not been able to find out any thing about mine. How do you know that it is a SHS?

Thanks! The color is a vivid pink in person. I think I remember reading that Sekine used some kind of special painting method to get that color. It has faded significantly, though, and there are some discolorations where the clamp-on shifters and cable guides were. There's a mammoth sekine thread here on bikeforums.net where I found most of my information on Sekines. I believe at one point someone lays out the hierarchy of Sekine models, with frame and component characteristics. It's worth looking through.
