I put a bmx style bottom bracket in the bike. I used primo bottom bracket bearings, 19 mm axle and eastern crank arms. You could possible do the same thing use the American style bottom bracket either primo, or some other brand from, dans comp or albes. You could possible use the surgino cranks on a bmx axle. Theyre good bikes, but they put so many stock parts on it, they gotta be changed. I'm about to get a pista stem, and plan to get sugino cranks and some good pedals. Did you fix this? or are you crazy and freewheeling without brakes? hah
