Ironman

No 1984 Ironman that I know of. More likely 1985. I had a late '85/early '86 in same color, but Ironman Logo was red.

I don't think those are deep V's, maybe more like Aeroheads (a better wheel, stronger and lighter).

A lot of purists don't always approve of a rare classic going fixed, but I think you've got a great bike. I approve of Ironman bikes in almost any form.

well, i couldn't find any

well, i couldn't find any other 1984's either—but i did some research about these frames and serial numbers; i concluded that it's made in 1984

And they are deep-V's but they're machined so they don't look so deep etc...

thanks for the comment, I hope this bike lasts me a while. maybe I'll put up some more recent photos soon.

Comp TA

"Comp TA (1984): Mid-range model aimed at triathletes and featuring a Tange #2 frame and Shimano New 600EX components. This model was the subject of an infringement lawsuit brought by B.F. Goodrich, who had an automobile tire of the same name. It would evolve into the Ironman for 1985."

the photo of the Comp-TA in the 1984 Centurion catalog is the same frame as this bike but with different stickers.

my theory is that this bike was built as a Comp TA in 84 but shipped/sold in 85 as an Ironman. So it's both I guess?

'85 was made in '84

Nice bike.
