Breaks (Yes its a Commuter)Deore, w/ Red Thin Line Kool-Stops, Travel Agents, Cane Creek TT Levers, and Cross Levers. Big Black Wald Basket (My Favorite Part). This bike is a Beast (34 lbs.) hence the low gearing, however it rides like a dream. I added the cross stops to allow for quicker stops from the upright position while in populated areas. (Children playing at parks, Chickens, Ducks, Dogs, Cyclists with short attention spans)
I did most of the work my self including the wheel build. But I need to say thanks to Jeff, and Jarred at Southwest Bicycles for helping to build my dream bike (It takes a lot of patience to build a strange bike)
I will be adding Nite Rider MiNewt.X2 Dual Lights and Planet Bike Fenders but they have not arrived.
The top tube protector is to protect the frame from the basket when the bars swing (very heavy impact = weight * velocity / impact area = frame dents. I would like to have a custom one made but that is for later.
The chain stay protector is to hide oil, I use light machine oil and frequently it makes black spots ;-)
Happy riding
