Raleigh Carlton Flyer 1965

Used to race for Wheelsport Cycling in Bellevue, WA. Frank Nashlund, the owner, heavily subsidized the purchase of this bike. This was back in the day when it seemed like everybody racing drove on old English car that would overheat on the way to every race. They were mostly tweedy and a little eccentric. Frank's shop was littered with back issues of bike zines and he used to chain smoke at the front counter during all of the team meetings. He was a great guy, the best. Anyway,this bike was essentially born into that environment. When I got this this ( I was 15), he said, " Never sell your bike, no matter if you quit riding or not, someday you will want to use it again." He was right. Got it in 1965. Still in excellent condition. Barely a mark on it.
