had to drop in a newer crankset and better spindle for chainline. cranks are RPM bmx cranks.
old schwinn seat that i shaved down with a dremel and re-covered, some long-ass seatpost i found at kraynicks
the pedals are some half decent pedals from kraynicks. fancy galvanized z-chain.
44x14 (around 85 gear inches) surly stainless chainring.
i found this bike delapidated and leaning against a dumpster in the oakland section of pittsburgh when i was moving out of an apartment. i figured i'd take it since i had a van at the moment.
this bike was my first fixed gear project. i had tried running a suicide hub, but ended up stripping out the hub threads. to fix it, i jb-welded the cog and lockring on and cured it with heat for several days.
after putting some riser bars on for bike polo and doing one too many pivots on my rear wheel, i broke a drive side spoke in the rear while truing the wheel up. ordered a set of built wheels to use with some crazy skinny tires i bought from harris cyclery.
this bike will be coming to a fixedgeargallery near you soon once i get some good pictures of the new setup!
