How do you like the retro shift levers

Retroshift shifters

Retroshift shifters (brifters?) are frickin' awesome! They should have been invented 20 years ago. I'm converting all of my bar-end shifter bikes over to Retroshift.

Couple of nice Somas you've got there.

Thanks! Soma has a great

Thanks! Soma has a great price/quality point that I like. I build up my own bikes and Soma framesets are very nice quality in my experience. A local dealer was trying to push me to an Independent Fabrications Club Racer (at 2295). Seriously? I'm going to feel the difference between a Soma ES and an IF Club Racer for 1800 more? Not likely. No thanks, I'll stick with Soma.

Your Builds

Your right about Soma's quality, and the way your building up the bikes are excellent. I agree about the 1800 more for the IF name, an impressive name though.

Nice one - I would love to see more of this type, i.e. road bike with only slightly fatter tires and fenders ('randonneur'). On this one, I would probably not opt for this 'bent' seat stay, and I would probably mount these shifters as bar-end.
