IM thinking about upgrading my drivetrain to a double so i dont have to push a 42 up front up the hills and also to get more top speed with the 53

Double chainring

I say go for getting a double. I had a 2000 Schwinn Super Sport with a triple. My new bike has a double and I like it a lot better. It's just easier to work with.
