For my first ground-up project, I decided to find the biggest pain in the ass ever. Not only did I have to have the BB shell re-cut (Raleigh 26TPI threading to standard 24 TPI), I had to use an oversized BB (71mm shell, used a 73mm BB) crammed in there with a little bit of plastic cup still showing. I also got to lever the hell out of the rear triangle to make it straight enough for a rear brake. And the chainline was AWFUL, so it's spaced to the max. But at least I know it's a unique bike, since no other chucklehead will ever invest this much aggravation into such a cheap frame.
But ain't she pretty?
