Paletti super prestige classic road bike

This bike was ordered through a friend of mine that raced in Italy and Lived with Luciano paletti. He was able to order bikes from Luciano Paletti as he required. All my body measurements,the color,the group set,the,rims,tyres,handlebars,every component was specified in a letter and sent over to Italy including the color.Luciano sent a letter back with the price and we sent a cheque over to Italy about 6 months passed and i was 17 at the time the bike arrived at customs. the bike cost me 00.00 australian dollars back then. then customs decided they wanted there bit and would not hand over the bike until they recieved 00.00 so the bike sat there until i came up with the money. IN the end when i was given the bike with not a cent to my name i was absolutely blown away by the look the amount of engraving, the attention of detail the way you could throw it around as you pedalled hard,the way that campagnolo braking and gearing worked and how smooth all the bearings all spin . I would ony use this bike to race .then after three months i stopped racing and put the bike in my bed room even after i was married .The bike was siting in the house with flat tyres and dust for the past 22 years then about ayear ago i came to my senses and went and seen an old friend who is a professional bike mechanic i said i want you to get her going again . He removed all the bearings and reput Campagnolo grease in everything replaced the brake cables,put two new singles (profesionaly installed with no glue visible ) put a easier cluster for me to manage. this bike has only done around 1000ks there is no wear on any of the campag components,brake blocks are brand new,it is 23 years old and on the odd occasion i pull it out at club events and every body who knows what a real bike is stops me and cant believe the condition and how much of a classic it is. when i purchased it i was given a Paletti jersey, head band,shoe covers and drink bottle and i still have them including the reciept Thankyou for listening to my story and hope this will satisfy the true bike lovers out there..
