I finally switched over the to velosteel coaster hub that I built up awhile ago. Losing half-step gearing is a shame, but I think it's more fun to mob around on now. I was gonna wait to update with proper MKS lambda pedals, a Soma laced to CR18 front wheel, matching tires, etc. but now I kind of like it this way.

sept 2012: tacoed the rear wheel when my roommate let his skateboard go underneath my wheel when he was skitching off me. Good thing the CR-18 rim was free. Ordered some V-O PBP rims to relace it and get a matching set. I wanted the RAID rims but Wilson was out of stock. Real update soon

I'm really liking this bike.

I'm really liking this bike. It reminds me of the his-and-her's pair of cream-colored Raleigh Sprites my parents bought in 1972 while my father was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army. They're still in storage there, and while I had half-restored my father's bike into an at least somewhat working condition, I some day aspire to refurbish them both to this kind of glory! Zank you for sharing!

thanks man, i appreciate it

his-and-hers bikes are a real pleasure to behold, especially raleigh sprites at that! I'd love to see those on VS someday.

looks real nice!

looks real nice!

thanks man

It's sporting different bars and crankset now... I think I'll get some new photos up once I acquire a Soma Porteur rack as well.

Beautiful!

This bike is so fine! And I hear you about your fixie...I have a Masi Speciale that I actually turned into my winter bike because I love my Finest way too much.

Much appreciated!

yeah I usually prefer to have a new soulless taiwanese frame for winter-bike shenanigans, but this one does the job perfectly and is rough enough that I don't mind abusing it. Not much of a winter this year so far anyway, even for california. We have a good rapport between us, I might actually keep him longer than just the rainy season. Though I think I liked my Kilo just as much... hmm.
