48/18 - NOT FAST ENOUGH GOING TO A 53T CHAIN RING

My first track bike, NOT IMPRESSED WITH QUALITY. I like the decals/badging also the fact that it was a Schwinn. I'm going high end on my next track bike; looking at landsharks, ciocc's, defintley will blow the bank with something that I can beat on and go fast with - Most importantly something that will last. I give the crank another month and i shear it in half.

enjoy!

The cranks and BB are definately something to desire, i definately bent the fudge outta mine, and had to go with teh same one for money sake. increibly enough, people nearly give away touros. but the frame quality is tits. id bet i put mine through more than any other madisonv.2 owner and have had 0 problems. its not light, but its beef as a mf. get back to me in 5k miles

Garbage Crank and BB?

"I give the crank another month and i shear it in half"

I'll be very impressed with your leg strength if you live up to your claim. ;-)

Maybe it's just me, but my crank is making a creaking sound? It's not loose because, I always monitor the torque's on all the fasteners before i roll, I guess i'm too critical.

It just doesn't sound like it will stay together another month. I purchased the bike new too.

I love to ride it though!!!!!

crank creak?

1. remove the cranks and bottom bracket.
2. clean everything including the threads in the BB shell of the frame using a clean rag.
3. apply fresh lightweight bike grease (phil wood grease works) to threads and BB spindle stubs
4. reinstall parts.
5. no more creaking.

Any questions? Feel free to send me a private message and I will get back to ya.
