This 45lb steel beast is my current project bike. I havent decided if I am going to fully restore this or lighten it up and convert it to a SS/fixed.

The Continental Baby

I recently converted my Schwinn Continental into a fixie and I must say it is quite the change, but I love it, what size frame are you riding? looks much smaller than mine... -Schuyler

same problem

I just recently became the owner of a 72 Schwinn Continental. It is in great condition and I debating whether to restore it or convert it into a fixed gear. It is incredibly heavy though. I'm mostly confused about what to do with that one piece crank set. I saw an example of a Schwinn conversion with cyclocross tires. It makes sense since it is a 40 pound beast.

Sweet Schwinn

nice old school find.!!!!.keep as is.....the shoes are cool too :)

you'd be alot cooler if you did man

if the frame and paint is in decent shape don't change it, just strip the components and turn into a ss or fixie, just keep all the original components incase you change your mind down the road. no regrets.
ArlieMarshall ,puttin' up my dukes and givin' a damn.

or...

...just junk it. Nah, don't do that!

just rock it like it is .

just rock it like it is .
