Bringing back the 90's with chrome plated bikes!

The EAI BK is probably one of my favorite all time frames. Perfect geometry and fit. Simple design.

I did the sanding/polishing myself and the chrome plating was done by the wonderful guys at D&D PLATING in Providence, RI. I highly recommend them if you're wanting to plate anything.

This bike is currently being used as my winter trainer and daily commuter, but I will probably race it at the New England Velodrome when I'm feeling like a change or it's too windy to ride my Tiemeyer.

15.8 pounds as pictured. Slightly under 14 pounds with race wheels, pedals and tires.

sweet

really nice build

Just curious...

I was wondering, how high do you set your saddle? And how much does the handlebar drop from your saddleheigth?

Looking really good. Big fan of Edge/Enve components.

looks great! makes me miss my bk =[
thinkin of chroming my gtb. is it possible to chrome alum?

Actually you should look in

Actually you should look in into having your Al frame buffed and polished. Al will take a high shine like chrome with a little work. It would probably be easier than a chrome job. Besides the chroming process
makes pretty much any metal super brittle. Kudos on the BK!Great bike!

I'm quite certain you can,

I'm quite certain you can, yes. I've seen chrome plated aluminum car wheels and such.

looks awesome ryan. want to

looks awesome ryan. want to do my concept?

Haha. Sure. The hardest part

Haha. Sure. The hardest part was stripping off the powdercoat. I felt safe sandblasting a steel frame, but the aluminum is so thin on a Concept, I would be afraid to sand it.

The chroming also added a few hundred grams of weight :(

Black and chrome

ATB I really like the black components against the chrome frame, the first I've seen.

Another one?

Another one?

No! Same one! The white one

Nope, same one! It's the white one I had that had a few scrapes and bruises. Completly refinished now. I was attempting to sell it, but since it was missing the original fork and had some wear, I could not get much for it. Figured it would be more fun to refinish it and keep it as my commuter, winter trainer and possibly race day bike.

good, I'm not mad anymore,

good, I'm not mad anymore, not that I really was, just jealous.

Everybody seems to get new stuff all the time, I'm stuck with no deals houston CL.

I think Aspen might be a little worse with deals...deals actually don't exist here.

On subject: This might be the sexiest BK on velospace.

EAI BK

Regularly when I see a track-frame that I like the overall look of her on VS, it more often than not ends up being a Bareknuckle--just simple, tubing diameters look right, and yeah. Nice to see one built up beautifully and the chrome is very sharp (and shows dedication). Those EDGE logos remind me of Tron (haven't seen the new one yet), regardless, they are hot. Nice addition to the stable, cheers!

from what I hear, you don't

EXITO!

Way to go, this looks great!

Thanks man! For a little

Thanks man! For a little hard work and elbow grease, and less money than having it power coated… I think doing the first chrome BK was well worth it. Hopefully it's more durable than the paint on BK's!

I'm now having this horrible desire to chrome plate everything I own. HAHA!

How much did it cost you to chrome the frame?

and where did you go to get the job done?

Chrome bucks. Fine

Chrome bucks. Fine polishing and labor 0.

D&D Plating in Providence, RI. They do amazing work for an insanely low price.
