Hand Build in the "Ateliers Course", which was separated from the main factory at Valentigney, France. The model designation PY was adopted for this machines (Modells named "Super Compétition" and "Prestige Peugeot"). In addition to building the Peugeot cycling team "Peugeot-Esso-Michelin" bikes, they offered standard race frames (CFX-10 / 531) and off-the shelf machines, including a limited edition of Tour de France champion Bernard Thevenet's PY-10 CP (1977), to the French and European market as well as completely custom made framesets.
Compare:

(Super Competition)

Top End in 1979 was the PY-10 LCP/LC (Légère Course Professionel) "Super Compétition", which was build completly with 531 EL (5/10 or 3/10) tubes.

French elegance combinded with a very special design of everything. Even to close the chain is "tres spécial". The bike is an unrestored example (with some touch ups)...

... now (08.08.2011) it is my son's bike.

Lovely

Iconic build. Always liked Spidel as a group set. I have a Fibre Du Carbonne Team Peugeot, Vitus with a full Spidel group. Lovely parts.
Kindest regards

Fantastic

Fantastic Peugeot!

Beautiful!

Gorgeous PY10, Zephyrus. FYI, I sent you a private message about the gold 110mm ATAX stem.

Very Nice

Nice new direction. The French made some compelling, uber light frames, too. This PY10 is super clean with an excellent color option. Look forward to seeing more of it.
