they're acually stencils. I put a base coat of metallic silver down first and then I stenciled on the hammer and sickle with a metallic gunmetal color and then went over the whole thing with a metallic deep red

not a bad idea. it does need new paint. The paint job i did got hit by a car on its first ride. matte black might be nice.... and a little more durable.
