My first single speed. 1980's Raleigh frame and some misc parts from friends and the local bike shop. Still working on it. If anyone knows exactly what frame this is I'd love to know. I can't find much info on it.

I recently converted to to a flip-flop fixie/freewheel. I haven't even ridden the freewheel side yet because I'm having way too much fun on the fixed side. Ditched the rear brake, pulled all of the stickers, flipped and cut the handlbars, moved the brake lever to the right side, and cleaned it up a bit. The biggest change is probably the Mavic CXP's. I had been riding on some old and busted wheels that were free and the bearings were shot. The Conti ultra-race tires were a horrible decision. Will be replacing them soon.

Looks like...

It might be a Raleigh Marathon...If you know the original paint scheme, check out old Raleigh catalogs to ID it.

My Raleigh which I believe to be a 1983 has the same decals. The chromo is called 555 and the bike was built in Japan. The same tubes and general design goes across several model names. Matching up the color with a year and model on Sheldon Brown's site might be a possibility. Cornell
