You can see a before shot in my photos, as well as a "before adding the black Mavic wheels" photo too. After adding the new Mavic Aksium wheelset, my old steel beast went from 27 lbs. down to 23.4 lbs. Not bad for what it is. Just completed my first triathlon using this old Schwinn and it fared very well against many more expensive bikes. I suppose that has a lot to do with the motor!!!! Frame was sandblasted and powder coated with a Chevy orange (probably pretty close to "Hugger" orange) Bike has gone from originally having 10 speeds to having 14 now. Brakes have also been replaced with some new-old-stock Dia-Compe "G" calipers. Cateye light set and Specialized computer have me ready to ride. Let me know what you think or the transformation.
