This bike has the lovely hand pin-striping in red around the lugs, which Schwinn stopped doing after 1972. The bike was set up for the track when I got it, and I left it that way for a long time. But I decided I really wanted to get more use out of it, so I set up for street riding. I wanted it to give it a more modern, urban look, and started with a set up of 80's clincher black anodized Campy Omega rims. I am really happy with the way they look. The stem/bars and seatpost were pillaged from other bikes, and I will switch them out eventually, but it is good for now. This bike is a joy to ride -- amazingly comfortable, smooth, and the quietest drivetrain ever!

Do you happen to know if the bike was made in the US ? That'd be cool if it was.

Chrome Paramount

Absolute work or art, beautiful. Leave the old decals, you can restore a thousand times but original is only once!

Thanks! Yeah, I decided to

Thanks! Yeah, I decided to keep it original. I'll post new pics new as soon as a get a camera (my old one broke).

Trend Setter

Incidentally, if you ever read any background on the ubiquitous chrome pista, this is the bike that Sky used as a model. She apparently had one given to her by a racer. I believe that's how the story goes. However, this is a far nicer whip than any stock pista. Nice ride!

No, I hadn't heard that
