Not too many hills on the Chicago Lakefront bike path, but the wind can clock right on your nose up to 25 knots easily. The southside is the best part of the path. The Mayor clears and salts the path after each snow, so I could ride all winter with the exception of one week. A studded front tire (35mm) helped my peace of mind in pedaling in the worst weather.
