Found a good deal on the frame, and I had been getting leery of using my road bike for commuting every day. The bike frame is a beautiful TIG welded Reynolds 853 (at least the main triangle is, I think the back is something else (725?) if anyone could clear this up) that looks classic. I'll be replacing the drops with something more appropriate, and wrapping them as I'm not crazy.
I wanted to build a single speed I'd want to ride over my road bike (which is nice and light and quick and many other superlatives). I got 2 mavic cxp22s as they've held up well in other uses, and used the same tires from my road bike (which have miraculously avoided flats for over a year); the blue side stripe is a nice touch. We'll see what I'll be saying this winter...
