1965 Schwinn Varsity (electro-forgin' heavy)
Original drops and aluminum stem (doesn't really help the weight)
you know
bad... sprint marked hubs
worse... sprint marked hubs (35 spoke)
Cool spint star pattern chainring... oh yeah and not round at all
Believe it or not the saddle is original
new chain!
50/14 Gain ratio of 7.186

Not the most common varsity. It also had sprint (huret) downtube shifters and really cool aluminum axel wingnuts. I'll bet you couldn't guess the back ones stripped on me. Yes I am using the 5-speed cassette, but what ever $$$. All the money went into my green one. Otherwise took off about every thing but the rear brake; it's my rain snow bike.
Tried and true, BOMBPROOF! If this bike was a cat it would be on its 12th life.
