I bought this mint 1973(MJ) Schwinn Suburban for 25 at an estate sale in spring 2006. It turned out to have zero collector value, because Schwinn sold "A blue million" of them, but it was almost completely unridden, 100% complete, beautiful, and a very good bike, albeit heavy and slow. The brake shoes were replaced, the bearings regreased, and the tires replaced. The mechanic complimented the appearance of the chrome. He told me, "In the 1970s, Schwinn Bikes had the best chrome plating in the world"
I ride it all the time, and I love it. I even like the color.

Vintage Schwinntage

Those electro-forged Schwinns may be heavy, but they are a smooth ride. The tubular fork like a Continental (and my own 1977 Sportabout) helps the ride too.
