was KMC pedals and Power Grips, now Shimano SPD cleats. KMC pink chain

16t Dura Ace cog, 46t Sugino chainring

Notes:

hand painted for maximum ugliness. this is my everyday work beater and for the money it has served me very well. although one Chicago winter did eat three nickel sized holes in the drive-side chain stay just from road salt, so that sucks, but i filled them with expanding pipe sealing foam.

empty box from parts, beer cans, pot ash in a bottle cap, cheap lighter, chinese restaraunt tea cup, subway remains, bali shag pouch, multi-tool, tags on coffee table legs, mismatched furniture, dude in black hoodie in the background. i feel like this could be the living room of 90% of people on here

nickel sized holes eh? 3 of them? i think it's time to retire that frame or get maximum health insurance

everything about the background of these pictures is embarrassing, right down to my creepy roommate in on the couch. it occurred to me that night that the bike might just collapse some day and i'd be sad i hadn't taken pictures earlier. i hope someone starts a thread somewhere just dedicated to making fun of things in the background of bike photos and that this picture is at the top of the list.
