1980's Nishiki Olympic
Nishiki 60cm Olympic
I bought this frame last year in the "coveted" 90's blue/pink/white colourway with pretty much all Shimano 600 parts. I upgraded everything a week ago with vintage Campagnolo skewers, derailleur, and the shifter. I set it up with 700/23 wheels with Mavic/Nisi rims and a Speedic saddle. Other than the frame, the whole bike has been retrofitted with really nice parts from past generations. I opted to leave it as a 7 speed and get rid of the front derailleur system, altogether.
I don't know a ton about bikes yet, but my father used to repair and build back in the day on the island. I painted and clear coated it and did a passable wrap job. I'm undecided if I like the old Biopace cranks or these super light Shimanos. This bike picks up crazy fast from 0 and does exactly what I want it do: go fast. All the time. I ride everyday on this bike and it's incredible to build something like this for yourself. I'll definitely be back with another.
Sorry that photo doesn't have the chain on it and the derailleur set up. It's riding awesome now.
