Here is the actual round of photos for my recently finished Peugeot UO8. It was a very fun build, and was also my first fixie. I started with only the frame/fork, and built my way up. After doing a lot of research on what would work for this bike, and what french parts I should stay away from, it was fairly easy to do.

The hardest thing to track down was the Shimano UN72 bottom bracket. If you are considering converting a french bike that has a french thread bottom bracket, use the Shimano UN72 with phil wood cups. It worked PERFECTLY.

I guess I'm lucky-

My Gitane Team Pro from 1986 has an english thread already.

Nice work.

I just wanted to mention for all those scrounging the internet for French bottom brackets or trying to get the scratch for Phil Woods gear, that another option for the bottom bracket is to have your LBS tap out the threads to British. Blue Heron Bicycle in Eugene Oregon did it on my U0-8 and charged 30 bucks. Worked like a charm and now I can use whatever bottom bracket strikes me.

Again, nice work. I'm quite partial to Peugeot.

Nice!

I have a Peugot as well (and I think it's this model!!) and I really want to change the crankset and stuff. This is good to know. Hopefully if I take my bke to he LBS I won't get charged an arm and a leg.
