Rumor has it that Columbus made a batch of tuning that didn't live up to their specifications. They sold it at a super discount to Schwinn of Chicago and this became Columbus "Tenax". Still a really cool bike.

Campy seatpost

I have the same bike, where did you find a campy seatpost to fit. what is the your size? i guess they vary on the madisons cuz i tried to take one off another madison and it didn't fit

I wouldn't be surprised. My wife has a mini version of that bike and it doesn't seem like the most amazing steel. It still rides nice and it's a great bike, so no complaints.

Tenax Tubing

I looked a bit more into it. Tenax was what later became Cromor. Basically it has the strength of SL tubing, just a few ounces heavier. Sort of an economy SL tubeset. I'm OK with that.
