B17 and Your Bar Height

How does the B17 (at 170mm wide) ride with the serious bar drop? Most B17 riders choose this Brooks with bars at or above the saddle height? I'm considering putting one on my Cross Check with bars about 2 inches below my saddle height. It is comfortable with such a drop?
