I bought this as a frame/fork set in 2003 when it showed up with other Merlin bikes at the Saucony HQ in Massachusetts. I guess these were leftovers from when Merlin was built in Mass. My buddy contacted me and the rest is history. It was fate I guess.
This bike has been through several phases of components. It started with Shimano Ultegra 9sp, then Campy Daytona, now Centaur carbon shifters, Chorus cranks. It is my work in progress. Perhaps it will see 11sp Super Record grouppo. I would like it to accompany me to Europe, but we'll see.
