I'm from the Netherlands so I've always been riding bikes on nearly a day to day basis, but this is the bike that got me into riding racing bicycles. Contaminated by the racing bike virus I spent one night on the interwebz and found this bike being offered for free.
It was like 03:00 so I waited until the next morning to make the call. Turned out the woman had put her husbands bike (now my bike hehe) up for sale after he left her. She didn't care about it, as long as it was gone.
The husband seemed not very interested in the bike either, seeing as the tires were both flat and the front one wasn't even inflatable anymore, which resulted in me cycling a couple of miles back home on a flat front tire.
I gradually spent a total of €40,- on new tires, new inner tubes, a seat, a pair of brake calipers, the tiny mudguard, a set of pedals and new bar tape and I was set to go.

The decals on the frame and fork read Concorde, but I guess it isn't really a product of the Italian bicycle builder known by that name. The font isn't one of the two that I know have been used on "real" Concorde bikes, and also there's a little image of a Concorde airplane next to the text. On areas where the paint chipped you can see the bike used to be a light shade of metallic green, so some one must have painted it over and applied the Concorde stickers. I wish I knew the true make of the frame!

I picked up an old frame also, and after a bit of researching i narrowed it down to a raleigh frame and your frame is identical to mine

here's a bit of background

Hey thanks for thinking with me! The mystery has already been solved though, I came across a Raleigh once which I thought was the same as my bike so I know where you come from but turns out it's a Nishiki. This was my back up bike for when my Cadex had issues but as I now have another road bike I decided to convert this one to fixed gear. Check it out here: http://velospace.org/node/22487
