This is my latest find, a 1948 Schwinn. The paint is all bit gone except for a little light blue around the serial number under the bottom bracket. I don’t figure the tires & tubes are original because even though dry rotted, they still hold air. I like the way the fork bracings are part of the fork crown. Likely the best 20 I spent in a classic bike...

UP DATE; SOLD for 60 at auction at 29th Annual Ann Arbor/Saline, Michigan Classic Bicycle Show and Swap Meet, April 26th, 2009. I hated to see this one go as I really liked the way it looked. I can only hope that some one will take the time & money to restore her right...

Would've been sweet to restore the functional bits and keep the rest as is, a sort of rat rod bike. :D

The Ann Arbor Bike swap meet is next week end, I’ll put it on the auction block and see what happens & if it won’t sell I’ll likely restore it in time. I don’t even know how it looked before I found it in the state it is now, so I’m going to have to do a bit of homework if I want to restore it right...
