Machined silver velocity deep v laced to iro hub

Machined silver velocity deep v laced to iro hub

Sugino XD cranks, Shimano BB

Ugly take-off bontrager saddle until I can afford a black Brooks

Free bottom of the line pedals from a friend, BMX chain

16 tooth shimano cog paired with sugino 46 tooth ring

My very first fixed gear build, or any bike build period. I'm just now getting into this stuff and I'm learning as I go. I tried to get the nicest yet most reasonably priced parts as I could on a college students' budget. PLEASE PLEASE give me feedback I'd love to hear that you have to say good or bad. Suggestions on what I could do to make this bike better are welcome.

Looking for a black brooks saddle if you got it please sell it to me...you can see I need it!

Looks nice!

True, it's not what I would have done, but that said you did a good job!

Good

I wouldn't want my bike to look like what YOU wanted :)

Did you polish those lugs?

Did you polish those lugs? They look amazing.

The lugs

The shop I took the bike to get powder coated at did the polish, I'm really happy with it

looks cool

i too just did my first conversion. did it all diy out my garage. yours looks nice, stripped it down and everything. i did that as well. if you get a chance check mine out and tell me what you think. i also have a couple of threads up, one called "lets talk tech" and another one called "for the love of god... for the love of figured gear conversions" these threads are made specifically for people to do what you want to do in your thread but in a general forum. a lot of people usually just ignore my threads or rag and hate in them cause they are anti convert snobs, so feel free to join me in there and LETS TALK TECH! peace out.

It may be a little late...

But if you're going fixed -- and it's a one-way trip -- take off the few braze-ons left on the frame. I count six -- three on the top tube, one on the right chainstay, one on the downtube, and that thing that looks like a centerpull brake stop on the seatstays. (There might be some cable guides on the bottom bracket, but they're hidden.)

Do like the rims, hubs, and crank -- classy.

L.

I gave thought to that

I gave thought to that before I powder coated it but they don ' t really bother me, and they are done in a really clean manor for this particular frame so I figured I'd just leave them

I appreciate the input!

Nice build

The lugs look great. "SR" stands for Sakae Ringyo, a Japanese company that made cranks and other things in the 80s.

ah I see, I hope to get out

ah I see, I hope to get out some sand paper and try and polish that stem up, I appreciate your input!

start with 000 steel wool,

start with 000 steel wool, and work that for a hot minute. finish up with 0000 for another good while, and then buff it with simichrome (available at auto stores) and it will be as polished as that particular stem can get

will do

I'll have to make a project of that this weekend
