1949 Goodyear "HI-WAY PATROL"

I don't know much about this bike except that I wish whoever painted it, hadn't. My brother in law was given it. He gave it to me after a few years. I've overhauled it and it works fine, though it feels flimsy compared to a Schwinn. I think the front axle, cones & bearings have been replaced along with the seat covering. Also I think that rack likely came off some other bike. The tires are most likely not original as well. That light needed a home, so I put it on.

UPDATE; SOLD at the 29th Annual Ann Arbor/Saline, Michigan Classic Bicycle Show and Swap Meet April 26th, 2009 for 60. Not bad for a free bike I’d say...
