good question, greg. aparently frames with relaxed geometry work well, i assume to ensure a smoother ride on bumpy grass. also enough clearance to accomodate larger tires and/or mudguards helps. here's the most comprehensive guide i've found, written by the guy who sold me this frame. http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/perth.htm
