Run with these tubular wheels for a few months now, and I like them alot, but probably won't live with them on what is my communting bike. I don't feel confident going anywhere without the Vittoria Pit Stop - which has saved me a couple of times. A brief excursion with velox tub-tape stopped when I saw the tubs moving round the rim. Now Conti glue is holding them fast (2 layers on the tyre, andf 3 on the rim).
Clincher here I come: I think I'll put something more easily repairable and I'll get back to doing some longer runs. The Tubs are great, so quick rolling at 120psi, but still compliant.
=========
Old Nigel Dean 653 race bike (was pink and blue fade), equipped with Dura Ace and raced by a friend. The downtube fractured, and after many rusty years, I picked it up: stripped, repaired and painted by Argos, Bristol in 2009. Long live toe-clipping!
This is probably the best steel frame I've owned. It's so compliant and yet springy - gets up to speed v quick. A strange mix of lightning quick reactions from the geometry mixed with compliancy in the tubes.
And amazingly I don't feel the need to upgrade anything - must be close to true satisfaction...
