Pederson

Those things are rad. Weren't they designed by some blacksmith in the 1800s? They're supposed to be really comfortable to ride. I like that they blow the mind of everyone who sees them. I'm looking forward to seeing it built up. It'd make a choice fixie...

some pedersen history

It is really one of those constructions that i cant stop staring at, whitout really being able to decide if its plain crazy or just cool.
Sadly i havent really had time to get some work done on this bike yet. My workhorse bike got looted so i ended up trying to build that one up first.

I am not sure that a fixie pedersen would be my preference. Since you are sort of "hanging in the sadle" in a upright position, pedaling is a bit different than a regular diamond frame. As you mention comfort is really the thing and that is sort of what i am aiming for - a sporty but comfortable bike, as clean as possible to give the framework a chance to "shine".

The Pedersen was built by a Danish inventor, Mikael Pedersen, in the late 1800s. In 1896 production started in Dursley (England) under the name Dursley-Pedersen. Production was shut down some time around the first world war (1917). In the 70s a danish blacksmith - Jesper Sølling, started building "replicas" in the Copenhagen free-community Christiania. My bike is one of these early 80s copys.
