picked it up at the local bike swap meet. might change out the crank. The wheels are kinda cool, they don't have a make or model on them just a decal that says designed by Keith Bontrager. ...i'll probably swap for a better wheelset eventually.

*If anyone has any maintenance info on the Manitou Mars C please PM me. ANSWER no longer has the product info listed on their site.

Sweet ride!

This baby simply looks awsome!!!
The only thing that bugs me is the yellow yells STEAL ME!
The red version seems to be the rare color for this vintage?

this bike is rad. im

Hey, a lemon-yellow '99 Hoodoo!

I finally get to see my own frame in its native build, instead of my Frankenstein version ;-)

I'm guessing the seatpost clamp is a Salsa Flip-Lock? I had a hell of a time finding a clamp that actually fit a 30mm seat tube; Salsa was the only company that made them out of something better than tinfoil.

Crank-wise, older XT stuff (say, 752 or 760) seems to strike a good balance between durability, weight and chainring replaceability - unlike XTR. I'm running 752s on my rig now, and they seem plenty stiff.

Bontrager-designed wheels with Presta valve holes? I wonder if those might be pre-Trek Bontrager stuff? Those would be old-school cool, and probably worth a few bux, too.

As requested, I've added you to the VooDoo (ooooo, spoooky) cluster.

Now I have to get my act together and get my VooDoo pictures up. I'll have to juggle the cluster listing around, so the two yellow Hoodoos aren't right next to each other, distracting observers from their individually distinctive snazziness by their proximity.

Yep, Salsa Flip-Lock. I was

Yep, Salsa Flip-Lock.

I was thinking about older XT ... the Icon stuff has been fine so far tho.

The wheels are weird. They're not trek stuff, I assume the shop it was originally purchased from was a trek dealer tho (Icon and early Bontrager) they're holding up fine but the rear wheel is dished a little off. True, but not centered. The Real hubs seem to be better than all past reviews suggested they were. The skewers seem a tad long, they hold but don't really bite. ...not tight enough for my liking.

Let me know when your's is posted, I'm psyched to see another!
