This bike was very generously given to me by the pro Keirin riders at Kishiwada Keirin track after a second week of training with Minami-san from the Keirin School. It was one of a pair of Vivalos used by Sawada-Senshu (since retired) for training that have been hanging in the pro's tunnel-entrance to Kishiwada Keirin for a number of years. I cleaned and prepared the bike for the track under the watchful eye of Minami-san and fitted the hybrid of parts donated by the pros (hence mis-matched cranks). The twin still hangs in the same place.
This frame is much bigger than my previous Ocean frame, but after two weeks of training with pros and an expert coach, my ideal setup was worked-out and we realised that I had been riding frames much too small for my legs (I am only 176cm but my legs and arms appear to be longer than they ought to be).
Yet another example of how incredibly nice and generous people in Japan can be, especially professional athletes.
